New Location

We are very pleased to announce that going forward we will be holding services at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church  310 N. 72nd St., Kansas City, KS 66112. The wonderful folks at St. Archangel Michael currently don’t have a fulltime Priest and we don’t have a worship space and thus we are very grateful that they have opened their beautiful church to us. Fr. Michael Medis and Fr. Chris Rowe will be serving the Divine Liturgy on alternate Sunday’s.   Divine Liturgy begins at 10:00AM, preceded by the reading of the Hours, Confession at 9:30AM. The services will be predominately in English, but we will recite the Creed and the Lord’s Prayer in Serbian and English.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call. St. James a small, warm parish of Christian believers who come from all walks of life. Most of our parish is made up of pan-Orthodox converts, with a variety of backgrounds in the faith.  Our deepest desire is to make you feel welcome and at home as you come worship with us.

Our religious art through icons and sacred matter is what becomes windows into heaven. Ultimately, they are to reflect the image of the kingdom of heaven that is within you and me. Our spirituality is also grounded in Holy Scripture and Tradition of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. We believe, however, that our tradition is a Living Faith from the dead and not a dead faith of the living. Therefore, we pray Christ will continually give us light and life.
